Brecknock Museum and Art Gallery

Small by most standards this museum which was established in 1928 is housed in the Grade II* listed old Shire Hall in Brecon, Powys built in 1842. Its important art collection spans three centuries concentrates on Welsh art of local significance. It contains works by Thomas Gainsborough, Augustus John, Josef Herman, Ray Howard-Jones, Martin Bloch, Bert Isaac, Wiil Roberts and Thomas Hemy to name but a few.
