British Cartoon Archive

The British Cartoon Archive which is dedicated to the history of British cartooning is located in the Templeman Library which is part of the University of Kent in Canterbury. A registered museum, it contains over 130,000 original works of all hues in the cartooning genre. These range from strip cartoons through to political works. These in turn are backed up by large collections of comic strips, newspaper cuttings, books and magazines. Its earliest dated cartoons go back to the beginning of the 20th Century and house drawings from the likes of Will Dyson, David Low, Steadman, Calman and Giles.
