Bury St. Edmunds Art Gallery

St Edmundsbury Heritage Services, the managing body holds nearly 200 oil paintings. They comprise historic portraits, together with some topographical works relating primarily to Suffolk. There are works by Peter Lely (1618-1680), Angelica Kauffmann, (1741-1807), Joshua Reynolds, (1723-1792) and James Tissot, (1836-1902). The Reynolds is on loan to the National Trust at Ickworth. The collection of 20th-century artists include works by Rose Meade, Roy Turner Durrant, Theo Ramos, Charles Stuart Forbes and Charles Farley.
