Dudley Museum and Art Gallery

Opened in 1883 this museum and art gallery from slow beginnings now houses over 2000 works including some 250 oil paintings, 750 drawings and watercolours, 450 old engravings and 350 modern original prints. Its strongest point is its Victorian paintings which includes a fine example of a view of Dudley Castle by J.M.W.Turner. It also has a significant holding of work by watercolourist David Cox, Frank Brangwyn and local artist Percy Shakespeare
