Gloucester City Museum & Art Gallery

The City Museum & Art Gallery has been on the same site since 1893 in a typical late Victorian building that has recently benefitted from a refit coutesy of the Heritage Lottery. It displays local history from Roman and earlier times and boasts an interesting collection of paintings. Artists represented include John Atkinson Grimshaw, Donald Milner, Charles March Gere, James Walker Tucker, Wilson Steer, William Rothernstein, John Codner, Turner Durrant, Sylvia Gosse, Percy Jowett, Therese Lessore and many more.
