Grosvenor Museum

Located just a short walk from the centre of Chester one of England’s most picturesque and historic cities, the museum was built in 1885 at the instigation and funding of the 1st Duke of Westminster. It houses a fine collection of locally important archaeology, decorative art and of course silver which has been long assayed in the city.

The Museum’s art collection covers more than 500 years from the 16th century to the present. It concentrates strongly and people and places from Cheshire and North Wales and includes the works of W.J.C.C. Bond, Alfred de Breanski, Mildred Eldridge, Ethel Gabain, Charles Ginner, Felix Kelly and Joseph Wright of Derby.
