Kirkcaldy Museum and Art Gallery

Set in the grounds of the town's War Memorial Gardens, it was opened in 1925 and now houses a collection of fine and decorative arts of both local and national Scottish importance. Kirkcaldy Museum, under the umbrella of Fife Council owns what is probably the largest public collection of works by William McTaggart and Scottish Colourist Samuel Peploe with the exception of the NGS as well as an import collection of works by the Glasgow Boys. Other Scottish Colourists in the collection include works John Duncan Fergusson, Francis Campbell Boileau Cadell and George Leslie Hunter. Fife Council was the first public body in the country to acquire works by the much vaunted Jack Vettriano.
