Limerick City Art Gallery

Limerick City Gallery of Art is housed in the centrally located Carnegie Building built in 1904 and funded by the Scottish/American philanthropist Andrew Carnegie (1835-1919). The art collection began in 1936 and now has an important collection of Irish 18th to 21st century art in all media, totalling more that 850 items. At least 25% of the collection is on permanent display and includes works by Arthur Armstrong, Grace Henry, Paul Henry, Evie Hone, Sean Keating, John Lavery, W J Leech, William Orpen, Walter Osborne, Sean O'Sullivan, Camille Souter, Mary Swanzy, and Jack Yeats.

The gallery also holds the Michael O’Connor International Poster Collection consisting of over 2800 works of international design.
