Northampton Museum and Art Gallery

The museum houses a wide ranging collection dating from the late 15th century to the present day. Some highlights include Venetian masters such as Francesco Bassano, Antonio Bellucci and Francesco Guardi. British 20th century artists include John Aldridge, Frank Auerbach, Michael Ayrton, Edward Bawden, Trevor Bell, Peter Blake, Alicia Boyle, Chloe Cheese, Bob Crossley, Wilfred de Glenn, Alfred East, Mark Gertler, Sylvia Gosse, Thomas Cooper Gotch, Josef Herman, David Hockney, Bryan Ingham, Henry Inlander, Derek Jarman, Moffat Lindner, Christopher Nevinson, Frank Newbould, Glyn Philpot, Alan Reynolds, Ceri Richards, Dorothea Sharpe, Thurston Laidlaw Shoosmith, Harold Speed, Graham Sutherland, Valerie Thornton, Ethelbert White and Harold Workman.

Abington Park Manor House was built c. 1500 and remained in private ownership for nearly 350 years. Electricity was only installed in 1964 and it was restored after many years of closure, reopening as a part of Northampton Museum and Art Gallery in 1994.
