Based at Llangefni on the Isle of Anglesey the Gallery was founded as recently as 1991. It is noted for arguably the most important collection of the work of native-born Kyffin Williams who also died on the island. Other artist represented include Charles Tunnicliffe who spent most of his working life on Anglesey as well as fellow Royal Academicians Peter Coker, Ceri Richards, Julian Trevelyan and Leonard McComb. Since its comparative recent opening, it has successfully endeavoured to develop and expand its fine art collection. As one would expect there is a policy wherever possible of adding works to the collection that have some relevance to the Gallery location.
