Oriel Mostyn Gallery

Established in its current form in 1979, Oriel Mostyn Gallery located in the Welsh seaside town of Llandudno, is an important gallery for contemporary art in Wales. Built in 1902 to house the art collection of Lady Augusta Mostyn, it was requisitioned in 1914 for use as an Army drill hall and later became a warehouse before being returned to use as an art gallery. Following a major revamp and expansion costing over £5 million, the gallery which has listed building status was renamed simply 'Mostyn' in 2010.
