Piccadilly Gallery

The gallery which opened in 1953 (as the Pilkington Gallery) at 16 Cork Street usually exhibited work of British and Continental figurative and symbolist painters. Artists whose work appeared there include William Roberts, Ann and Graham Arnold, Graham Ovenden, Terry Lee, Adrian Berg, Max Beerbohm, Gwen John, Eric Gill and William Roberts as well as hosting major exhibitions of Gustav Klimt, Egon Schiele and the German Neue Sachlichkeit. The gallery relocated to a basement in Dover Street in 1999 and on the demise of co-founder Godfrey Pilkington in 2007, it ceased trading.
