Naïve Art

Although, basically, the term describes the work of untrained artists who are uninhibited by formal art school training – with its creative limitations and restrictive practices of perspective and composition – not all artists who work in this way are untrained. The term is also used to describe work by artists, such as L. S. Lowry and Alfred Daniels, who sometimes discard the conventions of perspective and composition in order to produce the simplistic directness of vision of young children.
