Black & White

A late Victorian illustrated magazine established in February 1891 by Charles Norris Williamson, (1859-1920) who was a motoring journalist and writer. Famous writers and authors of the day whose work was published in the magazine included Arthur Conan Doyle, Henry James, Bram Stoker, H. G. Wells and Jerome K. Jerome to name but a few. The magazine also published artwork supplied by a number of leading artists of the time including Harry Furniss, Mortimer Menpes and Richard Caton Woodville. In 1912, the magazine was incorporated with The Sphere.
