Postal Museum

The Museum is located in London close to Kings Cross Station and is located in what was in the days of the Post Office, London’s principal sorting office. The building house two main collections namely the Royal Mail archive and the Postal Museum Collection. The latter holds a massive range of photographs, clothing ephemera and paintings all related to postal matters both recent and from a bygone era. The paintings include portraits of past Postmaster Generals and paintings in both watercolours and oils. Artists represented include brothers Paul and John Nash, James Fitton, Reginald Cartwright, Ken Howard, Terence Cuneo, Eileen Hogan and past masters like Thomas Gainsborough. Not all images are directly representative of postal matters but the majority are.
