Glasgow School of Art

Founded in 1845 the Glasgow School of Art has grown to become one of the UK's finest bodies for the study of fine art, design and architecture. In 1909 it moved into its present headquarters, the beautiful listed building in Renfrew Street, designed by the famous architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh a former alumnus. More recent alumni Peter Howson and Adrian Wiszniewski.

Renowned members of staff have included Francis H. Newbery, Maurice Greiffenhagen, Robert Anning Bell, Annie French, F. Caley Robinson, D. Y. Cameron, Margaret de Courcy Lewthwaite Dewar, Norah Neilson Gray and Olive C. Smyth.
