Bath Society of Artists

The Society was founded in 1904 with 26 original members. It holds annual exhibitions at the Victoria Art Gallery usually during the summer months. The Society also organises receptions, lectures, private views, loan exhibitions and a members' exhibition which is held during the winter. There currently about 120 members and many distinguished 20th century painters have exhibited and taken an interest in the Society. These include Walter Sickert, John Singer Sargent, Philip Wilson Steer, Gilbert Spencer, William Scott, Patrick Heron, Mary Fedden, Adrian Heath and David Inshaw.
