Contemporary Portrait Society

This Society held its inaugural meeting and exhibition at the Wildenstein Bond Street gallery in London's West End in 1961. A further exhibition followed at nearby Agnew's soon after. The Contemporary Portrait Society appears to hold annual exhibitions at a variety of galleries which have included Bloomsbury Gallery, Qantas Gallery and the Mall Galleries. Well-known artists past and present who have exhibited with the Society include Michael Noakes, a Past Chairman, Hans Schwarz, and Dennis Gilbert.
