Society of Mural Painters

Although formed in 1939, its first and as far as I can tell, only exhibition took place in London in 1950. Artist members included Mary Adshead who from 1953 through the 1960's acted as the society Secretary. Its first President was Augustus John and other members included Francis Hastings, Barbara Jones, Henry Bird, Vanessa Bell, Kenneth Rowntree, Evelyn Dunbar, Peter Midgley and Laurence Scarfe.
