Gainsborough House

Situated in the Sudbury, Suffolk house where Thomas Gainsborough was born in 1727, this museum and art gallery shows a large collection of his paintings, drawings and prints as well as temporary exhibitions. At the bottom of the garden is a coach house built in 1928 which has been converted for use as a print workshop. Gainsborough's House, at the timer of writing, is the only artist's birthplace open to the public in Britain and was established as a museum in 1961.
