Hawick Museum

Hawick Museum and Art Gallery, located in Wilton Lodge Park, is housed in a 17th-century mansion, the former home of the Langlands family, that was converted into a museum in 1910 by James Pearson Alison. Bought by the Town Council in 1889, the estate showcases local history and fine art. The core of the mansion, originally known as Wilton Lodge, was extended in 1975 by architects Aitken & Turnbull. The museum also highlights the town's 200-year history of knitwear and tweed manufacture.
