John Davies Gallery
The Gallery began life in 1977 as a small gallery in the fashionable Cotswolds town of Stow-on-the-Wold, where the eponymous owner staged hundreds of exhibitions over the next decades, showing both period and contemporary work. In pursuit of more space for his expanding business, he knocked through to connecting properties on three separate occasions. The gallery thrived. In 2007, thirty years after establishing the Stow gallery, Davies moved the business to an exhibition space within a converted 1920's dairy plant in Moreton-in-Marsh, a few miles down the road from Stow-on-the-Wold. Here in this remarkable 3,000 square foot space, Davies and the gallery team have staged dozens more exhibitions over the past 28 years, including solo contemporary shows, group exhibitions, and collections focused on differing themes, periods and artists.
Artists whose works have been exhibited there include William Scott, Adrian Heath, Terry Frost, Anthony Green, Kurt Jackson and David Prentice, to name but a few.
