Swindon Art Gallery

This small provincial gallery was established towards the end of World War II in 1944 and now boasts one of the UK's finest 20th century collections of artworks outside London.

Artists represented include Claude Barry, Mary Fedden, Terry Frost, Maggi Hambling, Ivon Hitchens, Howard Hodgkin, Augustus John, Gwen John, Christopher Le Brun, L S Lowry, Lisa Milroy, Henry Moore, John Nash, Paul Nash, Ben Nicholson, John Piper, Graham Sutherland, Edward Wadsworth and Alfred Wallis. The gallery also houses a fine pottery section with works by David and Bernard Leach, Lucie Rie and Hans Coper among others.
