Fine Art Society

The Society, founded in 1876, has a gallery at 148 New Bond Street, London. Its main interest is British Art from the mid-nineteenth century onwards. There is also a branch in Edinburgh which opened in 1973. The building was redesigned by George Faulkner Armitage, (1849-1937) in 1891 and totally refurbished in 2004-05. The new gallery created space to show works by contemporary artists.
