Foyles Gallery

The first art gallery at Foyles was opened in 1903 by founders of the business, brothers William Alfred Westropp Foyle, (1885–1963) and Gilbert Foyle, (1886-1971). Since the old shop was refurbished in 2004, the Gallery at Foyles has played host to a constant programme of exhibitions and events in partnership with publishers, authors and illustrators. In 2014, the new shop at 107 Charing Cross Road, London, boasted a dedicated art department, which was opened by (Sir) Grayson Perry.

The Gallery is an exclusive space located on the fifth floor of the world famous Foyles bookshop and brings a programme of public exhibitions to central London’s foremost independent bookseller. Artists who have exhibited at Foyles include include Anne Grahame Johnstone, Harold Wilfred Yates, William McCance, Doris Hatt and Sofy Asscher.
