Blackpool School of Art

In the nearby port of Fleetwood, a school for fishermen was opened in 1892. In 1936, a technical college was built 1936 and within a year, the newly formed Blackpool Technical College expanded into Blackpool Technical College and the School of Art opened in 1937. It expanded again, combining the Fleetwood and Blackpool colleges in 1987. The college is now a Regional Teaching Partner of Lancaster University.
