Yeovil School of Art
The school traces its origins to the late 19th century, evolving from a Science and Arts college founded by Somerset County Council in 1887. Initially, it was part of the broader Yeovil Technical College, which later became Yeovil College. In 1947, the college was renamed Yeovil Technical College, and in 1974, it became one of the UK's first tertiary colleges, merging with the former Yeovil School. The original Kingston School building, housing the School of Art, was demolished in 1968 to facilitate road widening and hospital development.
