BBC

The British Broadcasting Company, as it was originally named, began in October 1922 under auspices of a conglomerate of leading wireless manufacturers including the Italian radio pioneer Guglielmo Marconi. In November of the same year daily broadcasting commenced from Marconi’s London studio. Within three years radio broadcasts could be heard (by those able to afford a receiver) throughout most of the United Kingdom. By 1923 the Corporation had begun its publication of the Radio Times which is still active into the 21st century.
