Men Only

When publishers Arthur Pearson closed the Strand Magazine in 1950, it was criticized for concentrating its resources on London Opinion and Men Only. Men Only had within a decade, taken over Lilliput, which was better known but lacked readership. The entire ethos of the magazine changed when in 1970 pornography impresario Paul Raymond took over the title. Artists and illustrators who had work reproduced in the original magazine included William Scully, Harold Thompson (aka Anton) and Patrick Bellew.
